How to apply
Click 'Apply' - you will be asked to create a SurveyMonkey Apply account to complete the application form. You can also set up your SurveyMonkey account for optional multi-factor authentication for additional data security when either registering a new account or by adding as a feature to an existing profile. Enter your details, including education history. Select and rank the colleges in order of your preference. Submit! You will be contacted to pay the $75 application fee, collect references, and arrange an interview.
Before you begin
Take the opportunity to explore and learn about each of our colleges, you will have the option to rank the colleges in your application form. You also can only have one application submitted with one list of college preferences in our system at any given time for consideration. Duplicate applications by a single applicant with varied lists of college preferences will be identified and removed.

Residential College applications are now open for semester two 2026 and semester one 2027 entry.
Mid-year semester two 2026 entry: Eight Residential Colleges are open to consider applications from University of Melbourne students for semester two 2026 entry. Note St Hilda’s is the only college that will be able to consider mid-year 2026 applications by non University of Melbourne students, with very limited residential places available for non Uni Melb applicants. Trinity College and Janet Clarke Hall will be closed for mid-year 2026 entry.
Semester one 2027 entry: All ten Residential College are open for first semester 2027 entry applications.
